(This is an archived page about the total solar eclipse that occurred on April 8, 2024. For information on future eclipses, please see our Upcoming Eclipse Maps page.)
On April 8, 2024, a total solar eclipse will occur in Little Rock, Arkansas. The Arkansas state capital is located fairly close to the eastern limit of the eclipse path where totality durations will be relatively short for this eclipse. The entire city, however, does manage to squeeze itself inside the limits of the path. In downtown Little Rock, observers can expect about 2 minutes and 20 seconds of daytime darkness. Interstate 40 runs through the city and bisects the entire path of totality, providing easy access to locations on or near the centerline for eclipse chasers who want to stay in Little Rock but travel to longer durations of totality on eclipse day. Below, we've provided key details about the eclipse in Little Rock for locals and visitors planning on viewing the eclipse from that city.
