On April 8, 2024, a total solar eclipse will occur in Indianapolis, Indiana. Indianapolis is the largest city in the U.S. outside of Texas with a direct hit of totality on April 8. Located about two-thirds of the way to the centerline from the western limit of the eclipse path, Indiana's capital city is strategically located for very generous totality durations.
